Why is July 10 Teddy Bear Picnic Day? I wish I knew. Nevertheless, I’ve got plenty of ideas for celebrating!
- Have a picnic somewhere with your teddy bear (obviously!)! Honey, berries, and other good bear food is a plus. (If your bear isn’t too terrified, teddy grahams and gummy bears are also a great touch!)
- Learn some good teddy bear songs, especially “The Teddy Bears’ Picnic” and Elvis Presley’s “(Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear.”
Read about your favorite teddy bears. I’m a huge fan of Winnie the Pooh, Paddington, and Corduroy, but there are plenty of others.
“Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;
let the sea resound, and all that is in it;
let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them.
Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy;”Psalm 96:11-12
