Some people celebrate Moon Day every July 20. For the uninitiated, that’s the anniversary of the first lunar landing. In 1969, Apollo 11 launched on July 16. Four days later, Neil Armstrong took “one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
Buzz Aldrin followed him soon after.
Moon Day celebrations include watching the original footage, learning about our solar system, and, of course, eating moon pies!
“When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of him,
the son of man that you care for him?”Psalm 8:3-4
