International Mother Language Day is celebrated every February 21 to encourage people to use their mother language and teach it to their children, and to commemorate those who died on this day in 1952 while demonstrating for Bengali, their mother language. I will be celebrating today by speaking only in my mother language – American English! You can celebrate with your mother language today as well, whether it’s English, Spanish, Chinese, Bantu, Japanese, Yiddish, French, Italian . . . okay, I think you get the idea.
After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice:
“Salvation belongs to our God,
who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb.”Revelation 7:9 & 10
