February 7: Happy . . . Day

British author Charles Dickens was born on February 7, 1812, making today his 200th birthday, as well as Charles Dickens Day. He is known for such classics as Oliver Twist, A Christmas Carol, Great Expectations, and David Copperfield.

February 7 is also known as Send a Card to a Friend Day. I can’t find out who created this day, but I know I love getting mail – as long as it’s not a bill.

Last, and, quite possibly, least, February 7 is Wave All Your Fingers At Your Neighbor Day. I’m not quite sure about the distinction between waving and waving all your fingers, but I suppose no one wants their wave to be misinterpreted! It’s time to go outside and be the friendliest person around!
