August 17: National Thrift Shop Day

It’s time to go shopping! Even better, this shopping is cheap(er) and usually environmentally conscious! August 17 is National Thrift Shop Day.

There are thrift stores just about everywhere if you keep your eyes open (or you can look them up here). In the United States, we have plenty of Goodwill and Salvation Army stores nationwide, and, on a good day, you can find all sorts of wonderful used (or pre-loved!) items. Local shops are sometimes even more fun, and the proceeds there are frequently funneled right back into your community. And, who knows what you might find there?

“Dishonest money dwindles away,
but he who gathers money little by little makes it grow.”
Proverbs 13:11

P. S. If you’re interested, August 17 is also Men’s Grooming Day. Sounds a bit strange to me, but my husband is in desperate need of a haircut, so I know how we’re celebrating!

  1. Hello there! This post couldn’t be written any better! Going through this article reminds me of my previous roommate! He always kept talking about this. I’ll
send this article to him. Fairly certain he’ll have a good read. Many thanks for sharing!
