October 14: National Dessert Day

I hope you’re hungry, because October 14 is National Dessert Day! What’s your favorite dessert? Cakes, cookies, pies, brownies, cobblers, ice cream, pudding, candy . . . While I love just about any dessert (my grandmother’s maraschino cherry cake is one of my favorite, and I have a wealth of delicious recipes for peanut butter cakes, cookies, and more), chocolate will always win my vote.

“The ordinances of the Lord are sure
and altogether righteous.
They are more precious than gold,
than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey,
than honey from the comb.”
Psalm 19:9b-10

But, a bit of practical advice from Proverbs, to keep you from getting too carried away with National Dessert Day:

“If you find honey, eat just enough—
too much of it, and you will vomit.”
Proverbs 25:16
