November 14: National Pickle Day

Happy National Pickle Day! In the U.S., where this holiday originates, “pickle” simply refers to the pickled cucumber (the UK’s gherkin), not any other pickled item. Nevertheless, there are still plenty of varieties to try, from dill to sour to bread and butter (there are even lime pickles!). Then you have the all important question — how to serve it?

Straight from the jar? Sliced on your burger? As relish? What about fried? So many questions! I’m afraid I’m a condiment person. A pickle on a sandwich is great, but just chomping down on a giant deli pickle sounds nasty to me.

What kind of pickle will you be eating this November 14?
