December 14: Monkey Day

monkey2Monkey Day is one of many holidays that begin simply as a joke among friends and somehow spread across the world. Starting with just a few people at Michigan State University in 2000,  it only took a few years for Monkey Day to go global, unlike holidays begun before the internet took off.

monkeyEnthusiasts like to dress up as (or at least act like) a monkey every December 14.

On the other hand, if you’re less enthused, you can still eat a banana or some Chunky Monkey ice cream!

monkey with babyAnd, always remember what Larry the Cucumber taught us: “If it doesn’t have a tail, it’s not a monkey. If it doesn’t have a tail, it’s an ape!”
