Everybody loves a Christmas carol, right? I hope you know plenty, because December 20 is Go Caroling Day.
I’m afraid I’ve always had a tendency to sing along with whatever’s playing, no matter where I am, but, when it’s Christmas music, there’s pretty much no stopping me. However, actually going caroling (no back up!) is even more fun than singing along with the background music.
Many groups schedule visits to nursing homes to sing to the residents. As a child, one of my favorite Christmas activities was the church caroling party. One evening, we’d drive around to all the shut-ins, stand in their front yard singing several carols, and deliver a small basket of fruit and other Christmas goodies.
Even if you can’t schedule a visit to the nursing home or elsewhere today, take sometime to sing your favorite Christmas carols anyway. It’s fun!
“Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.””
