December 26: Boxing Day

Happy Boxing Day! Most people refer to this holiday as the day to box up your decorations or the presents you plan on returning, but it originally had a different purpose. In the Middle Ages, serfs and peasants received Christmas boxes from their feudal lords on Boxing Day, not Christmas Day, for their good work throughout the year. Thus, Boxing Day is a day of goodwill toward the less fortunate.

” Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.”

Luke 2:14
