February 28*: National Chili Day

*The last Thursday in February celebrates chili, so, in 2013 February 28 is National Chili Day! Chili comes in so many shapes and forms that you have plenty of choices for  your celebration.

First, do you want beans or just meat, or are you going vegetarian? (Actually, I still think vegetarian chili is a contradiction in terms, but people do disagree with me. 🙂 ) Do you add the cheese and fritos (it’s the best!) or are you going for crackers, tortilla chips, or no toppings at all? Or do you even want it in a bowl at all? There’s always coney dogs, frito pies, and chili cheese fries if you want to change it up.

Check out the official National Chili Day website for more info, trivia, recipes, etc.

“My heart grew hot within me,
and as I meditated, the fire burned;
then I spoke with my tongue:”

Psalm 39:3
