July 6: National Fried Chicken Day

Fried chicken has got to be one of my favorite dishes, so I will definitely be celebrating National Fried Chicken Day this July 6.

You can make some pretty delicious fried chicken at home, but I’ve got to say that I’ve been missing my favorite chicken restaurants since I moved to Michigan a few years ago. No Chick-fil-A. No Zaxby’s. No one’s even heard of What-a-burger. And the Dairy Queen’s here only serve ice cream! They don’t even know what they’re missing!

Okay, so you shouldn’t eat fried food all the time, and those restaurants do have other options besides fried chicken (well, Chick-fil-A and Zaxby’s are a bit limited, but the other two have lots of good options). Nevertheless, fried chicken can be awfully good every once in a while – and you can’t have a proper potluck without it!

Happy National Fried Chicken Day!

“When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the Lord your God for the good land he has given you.”
