August 12: Vinyl Record Day

On August 12, 1877, Thomas Edison invented the photograph, giving birth to gold albums, hit records, and decades of musical fun. That’s why we celebrate Vinyl Record Day every August 12.

record playerI don’t know about you, but I really enjoy old vinyl record albums. Of course, I buy CDs instead now, even though there are many songs being produced on vinyl now. Nevertheless, the records are fun.

You can celebrate Vinyl Record Day by playing lots of vinyl records, preferable with a bunch of friends. It’s even more fun if you sing and dance along with the music!

“You turned my wailing into dancing;
you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,
that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent.
Lord my God, I will praise you forever.”

Psalm 30:11-12
