September 9 is Teddy Bear Day! Aren’t teddy bears great? We definitely owe something not just to Teddy Roosevelt, but to Clifford Berryman (the political cartoon who started it) and to Morris Michtom (who decided “Teddy’s bear” would be a great toy).
September 9 is just a great day to celebrate all your teddy bears, but, if you want more, there are plenty for you to choose from:
Several weeks ago on July 10, many people took some sandwiches, a blanket, and a bear outside for a Teddy Bear Picnic.
In just a month, on the second Wednesday of October, you can celebrate Bring Your Teddy Bear to Work Day and show Teddy the ropes.
On November 16, the plan is pretty simple: Have a Party with Your Bear Day.
And January 18 recognizes everyone’s favorite teddy bear, Winnie the Pooh, and A. A. Milne’s birthday.
We just need a couple more of these and I could rename the blog “A Year of Teddy Bears!”
“One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin,
but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”
