October 22: National Color Day

color-drop-of-waterHappy National Color Day!

Personally I think this is a great day to grab your coloring book and start coloring (I don’t care how old you are, you should still have a coloring book.). 🙂 However, it looks like this day has more to do with recognizing the effects color has on a person’s mood.

color-circlesI’m sure most of us have heard that blue is a calming color, while red is the color of passion and desire (and therefore helps us eat more at restaurants), but did you know orange is supposed to be good for the lungs? Of course, some color psychology is purely cultural: in America, white is the color of purity, but it is the color of death and mourning in much of Asia.

It’s a fun study, but, personally, I’m still getting out my coloring book!

“Now Israel loved Joseph more than any of his other sons, because he had been born to him in his old age; and he made an ornate robe for him.”
